Magical Lawns

About Magical Lawns

Confederate jasmine comes on in April and by evening a whole Temple Terrace street smells like it — that's the hour Magical Lawns is named for, when a yard finished at six looks better than it has any right to. The trick is no trick at all: mowing at the correct height, edging every hard line, trimming what the mower cannot reach, beds cleared, cuttings gone. Grass cut properly stands up and catches the low light; grass scalped lies down and sulks about it for a month. On the quiet blocks near Glen Arven Avenue that difference reads clearly from the sidewalk. Call it magic if you like — it is mostly attention, applied weekly.
