Lawn Sharks of Tampa Bay

About Lawn Sharks of Tampa Bay

Out on the Interbay peninsula the streets run flat toward the water and the wind off the bay carries the Gandy traffic and the smell of the port with it. Lawn Sharks of Tampa Bay work those blocks with mowing, edging, trimming and cleanup, moving through a route with the kind of momentum the name suggests. Salt-side yards go patchy where the spray reaches, so the cut has to be generous to the thin spots and firm with the thick ones. Summer means starting at first light and staying ahead of a heat index that stops being negotiable by noon. The stretch of a whole street mown and edged in one morning, drives blown, gates latched, is a genuinely fine thing to look back at.
