Rockett Lawn Cuts

About Rockett Lawn Cuts

Late light in Shady Hills comes long and orange through the pines, and it is a good hour to be finishing rather than starting. Rockett Lawn Cuts runs a tight route through these sandhill neighborhoods, one yard flowing into the next, mowers down and trimmers out before the day picks up its full weight. Speed is not the same thing as hurry: the edges still get cut, the fence lines still get trimmed, the walks still get blown clear. Between here and Spring Hill the lots change shape every few miles, and a route learns all of them by feel. By evening there is a string of yards behind the truck that all look like the same good day happened to them.
