About Ken Schrock Lawn Service

South of Sarasota the road narrows toward Osprey, Australian pines making a long dim tunnel and the light coming off the bay in slats. Ken Schrock Lawn Service takes the last cut of the day through there, when the heat has let go and the sound of a mower carries further than it should. Mowing, edging, trimming and cleanup — the same four things, in the same order, on every property. Salt air and sandy ground make for thinner turf near the water, so the cut stays high and the passes stay tidy. Pull in at dusk and the yard reads as one calm, level green, which is what a house near the water ought to have.
