About Lawn of the Free LLC

The first week of July the flags go up along the porches around Saint Johns, and the grass is at its most enthusiastic. Lawn of the Free LLC is a lawn care business that likes a deadline — mowed, trimmed, edged, and blown clear before folks start pulling into the yard for the cookout. Summer here never really eases off, so the schedule is the whole trick: come back before the yard has a chance to argue. There is a plain kind of pride in a cut lawn with heat shimmering above it and everything sitting where it should. Small thing, maybe. It reads all the way from the road.
