Trey Gardens

About Trey Gardens

At Ponte Vedra Beach the salt comes in over the dunes every day of the year, and the sea oats bend the same direction they have always bent. Trey Gardens keeps lawns along this strip between the ocean and the Intracoastal, where St. Augustine grass, oleander and palmetto all take the wind and the sun full on. The work is mowing, edging and trimming, with the cuttings gathered up so the walkways stay clean underfoot. Salt air and coastal sand make a yard here a matter of steady care rather than any single grand gesture. From the Guana preserve down through Palm Valley, a lawn cut even and edged sharp holds its own against the coast, and that is the pleasure of it.
