About A & R Newell Lawn And Tractor Service

North of town the parcels open up — an acre here, three there, fence lines running back toward the pines around Bayou George and Southport. A & R Newell Lawn And Tractor Service works at that scale, where a push mower gives out and a tractor deck earns its keep. Late August lays wet heat over Bay County and the grass answers in a week; they knock it down, clear the brush along the ditch, and leave the drive and turnaround open again. Smaller yards get the same care at closer range, with mowing, edging, trimming and a tidy sweep of the walk. There is a plain pleasure in looking back at a field brought to order before the afternoon storm stacks up over the Gulf.
