Maintain Landscaping

About Maintain Landscaping

The path around Lake Underhill fills with walkers by seven, and the grass on the slope above it has already been cut. Maintain Landscaping is named for the unglamorous half of this trade: the same yard, the same day, week after week, mowed, edged, trimmed and cleared. Around Crystal Lake and the neighborhoods east of downtown, that repetition is what keeps St. Augustine thick instead of stringy and what keeps a bed from turning into a thicket by August. Hedges come back a little at a time rather than all at once, which is why they never look shorn. Nothing about the work announces itself, and that is the point: a yard nobody has to think about.
