Heavenly Landscaping and Lawn

About Heavenly Landscaping and Lawn

By one o'clock in July the sky over Colonialtown starts building — towers of white going gray at the base, thunder still miles off toward the coast. Heavenly Landscaping and Lawn races that clock, mowing, edging and blowing the walks so a yard is finished and the trailer loaded before the first drops hit the pavement and the whole street starts steaming. Hedge trimming and mulch fill the cooler mornings, and a seasonal cleanup clears what the rains and the wind put down. There is something worth seeing in a lawn just after a storm passes — cut lines still sharp, everything rinsed, the light coming back gold under the clouds. That view is what the day's hurry is for.
