About Dr Turf

By midsummer the turf around Lake Fairview is either thriving or telling on itself — a straw-colored patch at the hot end of the yard, a thin run beside the driveway where heat lifts off the concrete. Dr Turf reads those signs on the north Orlando lawns it keeps, adjusting mowing height, feeding on a schedule and treating weeds before they claim the open ground. The visit itself is still mowing, trimming, edging and clearing, done every time and done the same way. Hedges are shaped, beds are cleared, and clippings are left where they will do the grass some good. A lawn does not turn around in a week, but it does turn around.
