About Nick's Nursery & Landscaping

Winter is the planting season in Nokomis: cool mornings, soft ground, and months to spare before the heat asks anything of a new root. Nick's Nursery & Landscaping works that window hardest, setting in shrubs and trees, laying sod, spreading mulch and shaping beds while the weather is still on the plants' side. Sand, shell and sun decide what can live here, so plans lean toward what wants this coast, coontie and firebush, muhly grass and cabbage palm. Once a landscape is in, the visits continue with mowing, edging, trimming and keeping weeds out of everything just planted. A yard put together this way looks better each year rather than merely holding on.
