Tropical Turf

About Tropical Turf

Light arrives in Coconut Grove already broken, filtered down through live oak and gumbo limbo long before it reaches the grass. Tropical Turf mows the lawns under that canopy, where turf runs thin in the shade and thick in the gaps, and the cut has to be read yard by yard. Edging follows the old curving streets instead of fighting them, and trimming clears the flared roots and the bases of the palms. Leaf litter gets moved off brick, coral rock and stepping stones so the ground shows again. When the afternoon builds up over the bay, the yard is finished and ready to take the rain.
