About Rivas landscaping

By noon on Calle Ocho the shade under the awnings is worth more than money, and the yards a few streets off it are where Rivas landscaping spends the day. Little Havana lots are small and particular — tight setbacks, hedges pressed up against the chain link, a strip of grass that has to look sharp because everybody walks past it. So the trimming is done by hand where the mower can't reach, the edges are cut clean around the mailbox and the gate post, and nothing is left on the sidewalk when the truck pulls away. Somewhere down the block the domino tiles keep clicking through it all. A yard here is a front room, and it gets kept like one.
