Suwannee Lawn & Garden

About Suwannee Lawn & Garden

Follow the sand roads out of McAlpin toward the river and the water shows up without warning, springs opening blue in the middle of the woods and the Suwannee running slow and tea-dark past the limestone. Suwannee Lawn & Garden takes its name from that country and works both halves of the name: lawns kept mowed and edged, and gardens actually gardened. April is the best of it, when the beds get turned and mulched, shrubs come back into shape, and new plantings go into ground that holds warmth early down here. The grass gets its weekly pass right alongside, trimmed around every bed line so the two never look like separate jobs. A yard where the lawn and the plantings agree with each other is the thing worth building, season after season.
