Frank's Lawn Services

About Frank's Lawn Services

June arrives early in the red clay hills and does not leave in a hurry; by ten the air over the peanut fields past the county road has that thick shine to it. Frank's Lawn Services works the front of the day, when the dew is still down and the mower throws a clean line instead of a clump. Mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing the walks and drives — plain work, done all the way to the corners where the fence meets the shed. By the time the heat stacks up at noon, the cutting is finished, the edges are crisp, and there isn't a blade left on the walkway. That is the whole reward: a yard in Marianna that looks handled, and the rest of the day to get out of the sun.
