Chrome Landscape

About Chrome Landscape

Downtown Marianna wakes in halves — sun already on the brick storefronts along Lafayette Street while the west side of the block still holds its shade. Chrome Landscape starts in that split light, mower down, trimmer humming along the walks. The work is landscaping and lawn maintenance around town: mowing, edging, hedge and shrub trimming, bed lines cut fresh into the red clay and mulched dark and even. There is a particular pleasure in the last pass, when the edge beside a sidewalk runs straight as a chalk line and the clippings are blown back off the concrete. A yard kept that way reads from the road — deliberate, squared up, looked after.
