About Southern cut maintenance

August in Lauderdale Lakes is a slow-moving heat, and the work gets done early or under a mango tree's worth of shade. Southern Cut Maintenance keeps to the essentials right through it — cut, edge, trim, clear the walks — because in a summer like this the grass gains an inch the moment you look away. There is an art to a good cut in the wet season: not too low, not too late, and never leaving windrows behind. Come evening the yards go quiet and green, and the day's row of finished lawns stands there looking easy, which it was not. That is the trade.
