About Palm Beach Gardening & Design

January is the gardener's month in Lantana — the rain backs off, the northeast breeze comes cool through the screens, and the bougainvillea goes loud along a fence. Palm Beach Gardening & Design works the beds as seriously as the lawn: laying out plantings, setting borders that hold their line, mulching, cutting back whatever has grown past its place, and mowing and edging the grass that frames it all. A garden here wants a plan — what will take the salt breeze, what will take the west-side sun at three in the afternoon. Done thoughtfully, a Lantana front bed carries color through most of the year. The house ends up sitting inside its garden rather than merely in front of one.
