About Steve's Tree Service Inc.

Lake Placid paints its history on the walls downtown and grows caladiums in the black fields just outside it, while the ridge underneath is white sand and scrub. Steve's Tree Service Inc. works from Lake June-in-Winter out toward the groves, pruning citrus, shade oaks and sand pines that have gone top-heavy in that loose ground. Trimming palms and lifting oak limbs off a roof is steady work in a town where nearly every lot has old trees on it. Removals go with rope and patience, and the stump is left level enough to mow over. Storms cross the lakes with nothing to slow them, so the week after tends to be fences, carports and the limb across the mailbox.
