Sonny's Lawn Care

About Sonny's Lawn Care

By two o'clock on a July afternoon the sky out toward Lake Istokpoga stacks itself into a white tower and the rain arrives more or less on schedule, so the mowing in Lake Placid gets done in the cool half of the morning. Sonny's Lawn Care runs those early hours — bahiagrass mowed even, edges cut sharp along the walks, fence lines trimmed, clippings blown off the drive before the first thunder. Summer growth in Highlands County is relentless; a week is a long time for a lawn here. The reward is turning back down a street you finished and watching the whole block hold one straight line. That is the entire job, and it is enough.
