Silverio's Yard & Garden Care

About Silverio's Yard & Garden Care

Late winter on the edge of Lake Placid, the caladium fields come up in stripes of red and pink and pale green — this is the corner of Florida that grows those bulbs for the rest of the world. Silverio's Yard & Garden Care keeps the smaller plots in town: the mowing, the edging along a driveway, the beds weeded and mulched and given room to breathe, the palmettos and hedges cut back off the walk. Ridge sand drains in a hurry and grows weeds faster still, so the work is patient and repeated, week after week. There is a real pleasure in the last pass of a mower, when the lines lie straight and the borders read clean from the street. The yard looks like someone tends it, because someone does.
