About Shorty's Tree & Lawn Care LLC

For a few weeks in June the royal poincianas go off like something struck a match — whole crowns of orange over Truman Avenue, petals drifting down onto every parked car and every lawn beneath. Shorty's Tree & Lawn Care LLC works under and up in trees like those, pruning crossing limbs, taking out deadwood and lifting canopies clear of roofs before the windy months arrive. Down below the crew mows, edges and trims, then rakes and hauls whatever the pruning and the season have dropped. A tree shaped with restraint keeps its own habit and comes back stronger, which is the standard the saws are held to. Grass cut level, ground raked bare, a canopy open to the light — that is the yard they like leaving.
