In autumn the pecan trees around Jacob City begin letting go of their nuts, and the red clay roads of this little Jackson County town glow under a low October sun. Jacob Landscaping & Trees Service tends the lawns, landscapes and trees of a place where big trunks and generous shade are part of almost every view. Mowing keeps the grass neat between those trunks, while landscaping and tree work keep the canopy and the ground below in balance. Beyond the last houses the countryside rises and falls in gentle swells of pasture and woods. Here a well-tended yard is a small, proud clearing in wide-open Panhandle country.
