About Phoenix L.C. (Lawn Care)

By late July the light in Neptune Beach has weight to it, and the day's real work happens before the pavement begins to shimmer. Phoenix L.C. (Lawn Care) runs the early routes — mowing, edging, string trimming, weed control and a clean blow-down — while the grass still holds its dew. Heat and rain together make summer the fastest-growing stretch of the year here, and a lawn can outrun you in a week if you let it. It does not get to. The trucks come back at midday with the mowers hot and the yards behind them cut level and edged tight.
