Mauricello’s Lawn Service

About Mauricello’s Lawn Service

The numbered streets here run in a grid so regular you can set your day by it — one block from the last, one block to the next, the same low houses, the same hedges softening the corners. Mauricello's Lawn Service moves through that grid in the late afternoon, once the heat has broken and the crape myrtle shadows stretch across the drives. Hedges get squared, turf gets cut and edged, the trimmer catches fence lines and mailbox posts, the blower clears the walks. Nothing about it is complicated, and that is the appeal: the same careful pass, house after house. By dusk a whole block reads even, and even is a beautiful thing to look at.
