Mowala

About Mowala

At noon in July the crape myrtles along the Holden Heights streets are throwing pink blooms and almost no shade, and the expressway keeps its steady line of traffic running just to the north. Mowala works through the heat of it, because Orlando grass does not observe a lunch break. There is a particular pleasure in the final pass of a mow, when the pattern lines up and the yard reads as one whole piece instead of a series of stripes. Bed borders cut, fence lines cleared, sidewalk taken back down to bare concrete. Hot work, plain work, and a fine-looking result standing there at the end of it.
