Smith's Lawn Services

About Smith's Lawn Services

There is a particular quiet to the side streets in Havana late in the week — front porches empty, a dog barking two blocks off, not much else moving. Smith's Lawn Services runs a route through neighborhoods like that, the same yards in the same order, week after week, so a lawn never gets time to run off from its owner. Mowing, edging along the walks, trimming around mailboxes and pecan trees, then everything blown back off the concrete before the truck pulls out. Cleanups come around in fall and again in spring, when the leaves and the growth both pile up at once. Doing familiar ground well is its own kind of pride.
