McGhees Lawncare

About McGhees Lawncare

Saturday mornings in Gonzalez have a sound to them — a mower starting up one street over, a screen door, somebody's dog. McGhees Lawncare is part of that noise from early spring through the long warm fall, cutting grass, trimming close around fence posts and mailboxes, sweeping the walks behind. Yards here grow hard under Gulf Coast rain, and the work has to keep pace with them. There is a plain pleasure in a lawn that has just been cut: the smell of it, the even lines, the neighbor who notices from across the road. That is what the truck rolls out for.
