About O. Martinez Landscape

Sandhill cranes walk across a Fruitland Park yard as though they hold the deed, unhurried, calling in that rattling voice that carries three streets over. O. Martinez Landscape often meets them on the last run of the day, when the light turns long and gold and the mower throws a shadow twice its size. Cut, edge, trim the fence line, blow the walk — the same four motions, done in the cool end of the afternoon. Evening is a good hour for it: the grass is dry, the heat has broken, and the finished lines catch the low sun clean across the yard. The crane watches, then goes back to whatever it was doing.
