Straight Line Cuts

About Straight Line Cuts

Where the Escambia River loosens into a maze of marsh and channels before it meets open water, cool mornings bring a fog that softens every shape in Floridatown. Straight Line Cuts does its finest thinking in that blur, because the whole point of the work is clarity: a mowing pattern that runs true from one side of the yard to the other, a trimmed fence line, a driveway edge as exact as a ruler. As the sun burns the haze away, those lines emerge one by one, as if the yard were being drawn while you watch. There is something deeply satisfying about order like that beside the wild, reedy margins of river country. The name says it plainly, and the yard says it back.
