About Gilbert Lawn Service

A summer afternoon in Putnam County has a schedule of its own: heat all morning, a purple wall building west of the river, then rain hard enough to fill a ditch in ten minutes. Two days after a storm like that, every lawn in East Palatka has jumped, and Gilbert Lawn Service is out ahead of it. Mowing, edging, trimming and cleanup — done early, before the humidity turns the day heavy. There is a particular pleasure in cutting grass that has been drinking well: thick, green, and taking the blade in one clean pass. The yard is left tidy, the walk swept, the fence line squared off against the wet growth pushing at it.
