Herman Green and Stone

About Herman Green and Stone

Cedar Street keeps Dunnellon's old face — brick fronts, a short row of storefronts, the historic district holding its ground above the river bluff. Herman Green and Stone tends the strips and small lawns around blocks like that, the narrow ribbons of grass where a mower has to be honest about its lines. October is the good month for it, humidity finally breaking, light coming in low and gold down the street. Mowing, edging where turf meets curb and brick, trimming close to the posts, and a sweep of the sidewalk after. Small pieces of ground, cut with care, are what make a street look looked-after.
