Sean Brunson's Lawn Care

About Sean Brunson's Lawn Care

Before it was DeLand it was Persimmon Hollow, and the ground out here still acts like it: sugar sand underfoot, bahia running wherever it pleases, and a low mist that hangs on the grass until about seven. Sean Brunson's Lawn Care likes that first cool hour, mowing while the dew is heavy enough to hold a tire line behind the machine. The walks get a blade-cut shoulder, the string trimmer takes the fence corners and the mailbox post, and no clipping is left sitting on the concrete when the truck rolls to the next stop. Out past the last mailbox the sandhill cranes stalk the open lots, entirely unbothered, and by the time the Florida heat stands up straight the yard is already finished. What's left behind is simply a lawn that looks like somebody paid attention to it, week after week, which is the entire job.
