Coastal Cares

About Coastal Cares

Two blocks from the ocean the wind carries salt inland all day, and a yard there has to be tended with that in mind — sea grape crowding the fence line, sand working its way into the turf, the whole east side of a hedge burnt back by February gusts. Coastal Cares takes those beachside Deerfield Beach lots as they are: mowing, edging along the sandy verge, cutting the sea grape and hedges back to shape, and clearing what the wind piles against the walls. Salt air is honest work — nothing hides from it and nothing stays tidy on its own. The payoff comes at low sun, when the shadows stretch across an even lawn and the hedge line runs straight to the driveway. Between the beachfront and the Intracoastal, the crew keeps a stretch of town that the ocean is constantly trying to rearrange.
