Ridgewood Land and Tree Services

About Ridgewood Land and Tree Services

Cross City is timber country, pine plantation on both sides of the highway, the Suwannee off to the east and the Gulf marsh a half-hour west. Ridgewood Land and Tree Services works out from the middle of it, removing pines that have leaned too far toward a house and trimming limbs off barns, sheds and drives where the woods keep pushing back in. Pruning here is about giving a yard tree structure and room in ground that would honestly rather be forest. Storms come in off the Gulf and lay whole tops across a lane, and storm damage cleanup means cutting through to the road and hauling until the shoulder is clear again. In October, when the heat finally breaks and the light goes long across the pines, an opened-up yard reads like a small victory.
