About Cortez Lawn Services

Late in the afternoon the wind comes over the Cortez Bridge off the Gulf and moves everything at once — sea grape leaves, palm fronds, the flags at the docks — while the light goes long and orange across the bay. Cortez Lawn Services works that hour on purpose, finishing the trimming and the blower work once the heat has broken. Sandy soil, hard sun and salt in the air mean a lawn out here earns its green, and mowing on a rhythm is most of the battle. A crisp edge along a shell drive is a small pleasure, and it only looks better with the water half a block away.
