Dade County Grass Choppers

About Dade County Grass Choppers

Bird Road is still cool at six in the morning, and the St. Augustine grass along Coral Terrace's swales holds its dew a good while after the pavement has given up. That is the hour Dade County Grass Choppers likes to start — mower first, then the edge, then the blower carrying the walk back to bare concrete. In a place this flat, a straight line reads for half a block, and the crew cuts for that. By the time the heat stacks up over the Palmetto and the shade under the oaks pulls in tight, the yard is finished and the whole street smells like cut grass.
