About Landscaping by George

This whole city was somebody's drawing once, with wide medians, fountains, and a boulevard called Country Club Prado laid out by a man named George. Landscaping by George keeps the lawns of Coral Gables in the spirit of that plan, mowing in even passes, trimming hedges to a line, and edging where grass meets sidewalk and stone. It is ordinary weekly work done in a place that was designed to be looked at. The pride sits in the finish: no ragged corners, no clippings scattered on the pavers. A drawn city still has to be cut, by hand, every single week.
