Smothers Lawn and Tree

About Smothers Lawn and Tree

Now and then a pair of sandhill cranes steps up out of a Conway yard as the mower comes around the corner, unbothered, taking their time. Smothers Lawn and Tree waits them out and gets back to it: cutting, edging, trimming the strips a deck cannot reach, and clearing the clippings once the pass is done. This is old lake country, sand and oak with the water table close beneath, and the grass tells you which yard is which. Keeping a lawn on rhythm means it never falls into that stalled, overgrown look between visits. When the cranes come back through, the place is trimmed down to the last corner.
