Scooter's Lawn Care

About Scooter's Lawn Care

Saturday morning along the river at Jaycee Park belongs to bicycles, pelicans and people walking dogs before the heat arrives, and the yards on the streets behind it are getting their weekly haircut about then. Scooter's Lawn Care runs those routes with the sort of cheerfulness the hour deserves: mow, edge, trim the fence line, blow the drive, wave, go. In the Cape a lawn is the front porch of the house — everyone drives past it slowly, and everyone notices the week you skipped. Summer means seven-day turns while the St. Augustine races; winter mornings mean cool air, low sun, and grass that holds its cut. It is a small, honest craft, and the finished yard is its own applause.
