MOW CO

About MOW CO

At five in the morning the Cape's canals wear a skin of fog that the first light burns off by seven, and MOW CO is already out with the trailer gate down. Dry-season St. Augustine gets cut short and clean while the streets off Del Prado are still empty enough to hear the mower change pitch. Mowing, edging, string trimming, and a blow-down that leaves the driveway and sidewalk bare — that is the whole list, run the same way on every yard. There is a plain pleasure in a lawn that looks drawn with a straightedge, and this is a crew that chases it house after house. By the time the neighborhood stirs, the grass is standing up green and every clipping is gone.
