About Grumps Property Services

Every October the fairgrounds at the edge of Callahan wake up — lights, livestock, a week of noise in a town that is usually content to be quiet. Grumps Property Services keeps the ordinary weeks in between looking their part: grass held at an even height, edges cut back off the concrete, trimmer work along fence rows and around the shed and the well head. Autumn here does not so much cool the air as thin it, and the mowing settles into a slower, tidier rhythm as the light gets long and gold across the pasture grass. Leaf and pine-straw drop gets cleared away instead of left to smother the turf. It is property care in the plain sense of the phrase: a place that stays kept, week after week, whether anyone is watching or not.
