About Wayne & Sons landscaping

An August thunderhead comes in off the Gulf, stalls a while over the Alafia, and by six the storm has drifted east and left the whole town steaming and rinsed. That hour, with long light and cooled air and everything green to the point of insolence, is when a mulched bed looks its finest: pine bark dark with rain, the border cut clean against the St. Augustine. Wayne & Sons landscaping works that line, mowing and edging, shaping hedges and shrubs, refreshing mulch, and pulling weeds out of the beds before they claim the season. Yard debris goes onto the truck instead of sitting at the curb. It is unglamorous, physical work, and the proof of it is a property that reads as cared for from the street.
