Fast Lawnscapes

About Fast Lawnscapes

By eleven o'clock in a Bradenton summer the heat has taken the street, so the day has to be won before then. Fast Lawnscapes starts in the grey light near Rossi Park, running the route north and west while the air is still worth breathing — mow, edge, trim, blow, next. Speed here is not a shortcut but a schedule, and the finish is checked at every stop before the gate closes. A lawn cut early, with the border sharp and the walk swept bare, holds that look through the hottest part of the day. Come noon, when everything else in town slows down, the morning's yards are already sitting neat behind the crew.
