First light on the north tip of Pine Island comes flat and bright off Charlotte Harbor, and the sea grape leaves take it like coins. GuadarramaGardens keeps the garden side of a Bokeelia yard in order — beds weeded and mulched, hedges and shrubs shaped, borders drawn where the lawn should stop. Mowing and edging happen on the same call, with the trimmer handling posts, trunks and the narrow strip along the fence. Salt air is hard on plantings, so the work leans toward tending what thrives rather than fighting what won't. It is patient, hand-scale work, and it shows in the way the beds hold their shape month after month.
