About Greenland Lawn Service Co.

Biscayne Park keeps its trees in the middle of the road — those green medians running down Griffing, oak and mahogany closing overhead until the street becomes a tunnel of shade. Greenland Lawn Service Co. mows the yards underneath that canopy, where light comes down in coins and grass has to be coaxed rather than commanded. Mowing, edging along the coral rock borders, trimming shrubs back off the old bungalow windows, raking leaf drop out of the beds. Early morning here smells like wet oak and cut grass at the same time, which may be the finest two-note chord South Florida makes. Then the mower shuts off and the birds take the village back.
