About A Cut Above FL Keys, Inc.

Big Pine is the odd one in the chain — actual pine, actual forest, slash pines standing thin and tall above palmetto and bare limestone. A Cut Above FL Keys, Inc. mows the yards cut into that rockland, where grass grows in pockets of thin soil and the property line is often just a stand of trees. Early is best: air still cool, key deer stepping out of the shade along the side streets, the mower the loudest thing for a while. Then trimming, edging along the crushed rock, hedges kept from swallowing the drive, fronds and clippings loaded out. By mid-morning the yard is finished and the island goes back to being quiet.
