Climb the Herbert Hoover Dike and Lake Okeechobee opens up flat and bright as a sheet of tin, and the wind that comes down off it crosses every yard in Belle Glade. Gadea Landscaping cuts with that wind in mind — mowing, edging clean at the sidewalk, string trimming along the canal-side fences where the grass leans all one direction. The Rim Canal keeps the whole town damp and green, and turf that gets tended stays thick instead of ragged. There is real pleasure in the last pass, when the blower clears the drive and the lawn stands even from curb to porch. The work is regular, and so is the result.
