Out on the canal streets, where the water comes right up behind the houses, a lawn is a small and deliberate thing — a green rectangle held between driveway, dock and seawall. Get Off My Lawn treats those boundaries as the whole point: crisp edging where turf meets concrete, trimming tight to posts and pilings, mowing in even passes, and clippings blown off the pavers instead of into the canal. The name is a joke about territory; the work takes territory seriously. Warm, wet Bayonet Point summers will blur any line left alone for long, so the line gets redrawn on schedule. There is nothing quite like a yard that ends exactly where it is supposed to.
