DeSoto Tree Services

About DeSoto Tree Services

Arcadia keeps its old oaks the way it keeps its brick storefronts — as a matter of course, moss and all. DeSoto Tree Services works under those canopies along the Peace River and out through the cattle range and citrus rows, pruning the long horizontal limbs that make a live oak worth standing under and trimming back whatever has grown into a roofline or a pasture gate. This town knows exactly what a hurricane does to a canopy, and the storm damage cleanup that follows is counted in cleared drives and reopened lanes. Removals come last and only for the tree that cannot be kept, lowered rather than dropped. On a still January morning with river fog still sitting in the hammock, a yard that has been cut and raked right looks like it was always that way.
